We are now soliciting applications for travel support for conferences taking place between September 1, 2018 – January 15, 2019. The amount awarded each affiliated student will depend on the number of applications submitted, distance traveled, etc. The deadline for applications is Monday, November 26. The following outlines the application procedures: This award is only open to Unit graduate affiliates. In order to be eligible, you must have blogged for Kritik (http://unitcrit.blogspot.com/) in the last 2 years, or have participated in the Unit faculty/grad seminar as a workshop presenter, or have served as a respondent for a Unit event. Please make sure that your application includes the date of your last post for Kritik. If you have not yet blogged for Kritik but are signed up to blog for a Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 event, you are eligible but your grant will be canceled if you do not submit the promised blog in timely fashion. To apply, fill out this application form and attach a letter of acceptance from the conference organizers as well as a short abstract of your paper. If you were never given an acceptance letter, you can submit a photocopy of the conference program that lists your name and panel. Receipts should not be submitted with this application form. If your application is accepted, you will be required to submit original receipts for reimbursement. The only means of accessing the award funds is to present original receipts for allowable expenses (registration, hotel, and transportation) incurred during travel for the specific event for which the award was granted. If you are also applying for and receive support from other sources for the same conference travel, you cannot use the same set of receipts for two awards. Preference will be given to students who have not received this award before. All applicants must be registered students during the term the award is received.
